My name is Roman Kurywczak. I started Roamin’ with Roman Photo Tours a little over 12 years ago for the sole purpose of running boutique instructional photographic workshops. I personally lead all my tours and workshops. As a nature photographer, I got my start as a landscape photographer but over the last 30 years I have expanded my skills to include the world of macro, bird, and wildlife photography.

My workshops cater to photographers who don’t  want to get lost in a crowd!  I strive to provide a unique photographic experience while maintaining a social environment with a high level of fun and energy for those who share my passion for photography. I welcome every level of photographer as long as they have an open mind to learn!  Many other tours claim to be small, yet they take 6 or more  participants.  I have maintained group sizes of only 4 on my US based tours to maximize your learning experience and provide you the utmost in personal attention. Because of this small group size, my tours are extremely flexible which allows me to change plans as weather conditions or other  unforeseen circumstances arise. I don’t think you can say that about any other photographic tour!

In February 2011, I released my e-book on night photography and in January 2014 released a second e-book on macro photography.  As proud member of the Sigma Pro Team, I travel across the country giving countless lectures and hands-on workshops, further allowing me to teach the art of photography.

I was born and raised in NJ and continue to live there with my wife of 25 years Pura, and my two sons Gregory and Ian.
